1907 Rolls-Royce Silver Ghost AX-201

Many Rolls-Royce models through the years have carried the Silver Ghost name, but they all trace their ancestry back to one single car which is best known by its registration plate, AX-201. It was named The Silver Ghost for its quiet ride as well as its color - the brightwork is silver plated ! This is the actual car that automotive reporters drove when it was new in 1907 and proclaimed, "Surely this must be the best car in the world."

The Silver Ghost AX-201 is owned by Bentley Motors, Ltd. and was completely restored in 1990. Many automotive experts consider this to be the the world's most expensive car, valued in the tens of millions of dollars, if not priceless. It was flown from its home in Crewe, England for display at the July 24, 2005 Cranbrook Concours d'Elegance in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, its only appearance in the United States.
