Post Office & IOOF Hall
Bodie, California

The brick building, erected in 1879 by Postmaster George Putnam, housed the Bodie Post Office, served as Grandma Johnson's boarding house and later as the Dechambeau Hotel. In 1880 H. Ward erected the building next door. Bodie Odd Fellows Lodge No. 279 was on the 2nd floor, and Ward's undertaking business occupied the first floor. The last tenant was the Bodie Athletic Club and some of their equipment still remains.

This signed, original 8x10 photograph is printed on matte-finish Kodak or Fuji Crystal Archive paper. It is also available in sets of four 5x7 note cards. These bright white, textured cards are made of recycled paper, blank inside, and display a 4x6 photo. They are ideal for uniquely personal messages or gifts. See a sample here.
